The side effects of Wegovy® 7.2mg are the same types as those seen with other Wegovy® doses, because it is the same active medication (semaglutide). In trials, side effects at the higher dose were common, especially gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and constipation, which are typical for this drug class and usually occur during dose increases.

Clinical trial data indicate that side effects may be more common or more noticeable at higher doses. These may include:

Nausea or vomiting
Diarrhea or constipation
Abdominal pain or bloating
Reduced appetite
Fatigue

If you experience severe, persistent or worrying side effects at any dose of Wegovy®, you should contact your prescriber or seek urgent medical help.

A less common side effect reported at higher doses is dysesthesia, which may feel like abnormal skin sensations such as tingling, burning, numbness, or sensitivity. These symptoms are usually temporary and reversible, and often improve as the body adapts to the higher dose. However, please contact us if these symptoms are persistent or troublesome.
